Our 6 Guidance Pillars for Impactful Contributions
Charitable
Our distributions must directly or indirectly relieve the needs of indigent, ill or helpless persons or animals. We strive to demonstrate kindness through our giving.
Scientific
Our distributions must be given to entities that demonstrate or clearly show a body of facts or truths that are systematically arranged; ultimately revealing the operation of general laws.
Educational
Our distributions must be given to entities that impart or acquire general knowledge, develop powers of reasoning and judgment, and prepare people and communities intellectually for mature life.
Literary
Our distributions must allow for creativity to be the dominating factor in the structuring of goals, aims, and initiatives. The use of expression and form, in connection with ideas of permanent and universal interest, are features to be protected.
Religious Liberty
Our distributions must align with the principle that supports the freedom of an individual or community to manifest religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship or observance. This includes the freedom to change one’s religion or beliefs, “the right not to profess any religion or belief” or “not to practice a religion.”
Empowering
Our distributions must ultimately leave the recipient organization better than we originally found it. In turn this should leave our communities and our world better than we found them. Our giving must inspire power or authority in others and make them feel enabled and permitted.
